If you have completed at least 120 hours of college course work (must include at least 15 credit hours of accounting), you may be eligible for this scholarship. Students must also have submitted an application of intent to take the CPA (certified public accountant) examination in the state of Texas. There is also a financial need component considered in the awarding.

TELACU Scholarship Program

The community construction group TELACU has a strong scholarship program for low income and first generation college students living in Texas. They have given hundreds of scholarships to students in Texas. Students must be a full-time enrolled student, and maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on the 4.0 scale. The scholarships range between several amounts.

Hamman Foundation Scholarship Programs

Students from the Houston area may be eligible for one of 70 Hamman Foundation scholarships. The scholarship has a minimum ACT and SAT composite score of 21 and 1000, respectively. Financial need is a large part of consideration, as well as academic history. Tax returns are also required to be sent as a part of the application.

National Business Association Scholarship Programs

The National Business Association scholarship program recognizes and aid deserving students wanting to enter business. National Black MBA Association Scholarships

The program has awarded over $5 million to students nationwide. There are scholarships available to undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students. Scholarship awards range from $1,000 to $10,000 and have several different requirements. Some awards also include paid membership to the organization.

Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund

The American Business Women’s Association has supported the Stephen Bufton Memorial Education Fund for more than 50 years. The goal is to provide women the assistance they need to pursue a higher education. There are several scholarships that are awarded in the amounts of $5,000 and $10,000.
